"/>AA-1025: In the 1960's, a French Catholic nurse, Marie Carré, attended an auto-crash victim who was brought into her hospital in a city she purposely does not name. The man lingered there near death for a few hours and then died. He had no identification on him, but he had a briefcase in which there was a set of quasi-biographical notes. She kept these notes and read them, and because of their extraordinary content, decided to publish them. The result is this little book, AA-1025 -- The Memoirs of an Anti-Apostle, about a Communist who purposely entered the Catholic priesthood (along with many, many others) with the intent to subvert and destroy the Church from within.

The Face of God - Best-selling journalist, historian and author Paul Badde embarks on an exciting quest to discover the truth behind the Holy Face of Manoppello, a relic recently rediscovered and rumored to be the "veil of Veronica". Vatican correspondent for German newspaper Die Welt, journalist Paul Badde was intrigued when he heard of a mysterious image in a remote Italian village—an image of a man's face on byssus cloth. Byssus, or sea silk, is a rare and delicate fabric woven from a silky filament produced by mollusks. It is claimed that the fabric is so thin and delicate that it is impossible to paint on—yet the image in Manoppello is clearly visible and, moreover, when laid over the image of the face on the Shroud of Turin forms a perfect match. Experts determined that the cloth of Manoppello is not Veronica's veil, but rather the face cloth layed over the face of Jesus in the tomb. Unlike the Shroud of Turin, which is a "negative" of the image, the image on the face cloth is a "positive" of the face of Christ. Paul Badde takes the reader along on a thrilling journey of discovery as he travels to research this remarkable relic, tracing the turbulent history of the Holy Face from ancient times up to the historic 2006 visit to Manoppello by Pope Benedict XVI. Illustrated with 16 pages of color photos. Paul Badde, born in 1948, is a best-selling author and renowned journalist and historian. Since 2000 he has been an editor of the German newspaper Die Welt, first as the Jerusalem correspondent and now as the Vatican correspondent in Rome. He is also the author of Maria of Guadalupe: Shaper of History, Shaper of Hearts; Jerusalem, Jerusalem and The Heavenly City. Hard Cover.

Approbation of His Eminence Paul Cardinal Cullen

Blessed [sic] Leonard of Port Maurice, in Italy, was a distinguished missionary in the last [i.e. nineteenth] century, who gained many souls to God by his preaching and his writings. His works were published in Rome in thirteen volumes in 1853, and duly approved. The treatise now published in English, and entitled Counsels to Confessors, has been always considered to be a most useful and valuable guide in the administration of the sacrament of penance. As I have been informed that the translation, which has been made by a skillful theologian, faithfully expresses the opinions and feelings of the holy author, I am happy to recommend it to those who have the direction of the consciences of others, hoping that they will derive light and instruction from the words of a most holy and zealous laborer in the vineyard of the Lord.

Archbishop of Dublin.

The Catholic Controversy is a collection of pamphlets written by St. Francis de Sales as a young priest (from 27 to 29 years of age) struggling to reach people who would not listen to him. He had volunteered to re-evangelize the Chablais, a region of France south of Geneva consisting of some 72,000 souls, almost all of whom were now Calvinists, their ancestors having succumbed to Protestantism 60 years before. It was a hopeless-looking mission of reaching people who would not listen to Catholic preaching for fear of reprisals. St. Francis' first few months saw mostly failure, as he spent a very cold winter tramping over the countryside, receiving a frigid welcome and sometimes sleeping in haylofts at night. So he resorted to writing pamphlets--which he posted on walls and slipped under doors. By this method he was able to reach the souls he was after, such that at the end of four years almost the entire population of 72,000 had returned to the ancient Catholic Faith. The reconversion of the Chablais is truly one of the most remarkable conversion stories in Catholic history. Today we are extremely fortunate to have these little tracts, which have been gathered together and titled The Catholic Controversy. These pamphlets are fresh and powerful yet today, and they give some of the most cogent arguments against Protestantism ever penned, presenting a defense of the Catholic Faith that in some respects has never been equaled.

way and with great devotion. Filled with fabulously interesting true stories about the Mass and many Eucharistic miracles, the book reads extremely fast and easily, keeping the reader's attention riveted on first one absorbing point and then another.

The Great St. Joseph

Some years ago, Dr. Remi Amelunxen received a large, very old collection of works, dated 1856, on the lives of the Blessed Virgin and St. Joseph. It had been approved by Pope Pius IX who, based on it, had proclaimed St. Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church.

Dr. Amelunxen made a succinct summary of the work and added excerpts from The City of God, by Ven. Mary of Agreda, which had been approved and recommended by Pope St. Pius X.

The result is The Great St. Joseph, where you will find what we know of the life of St. Joseph based on Scripture, great Saints and Doctors of the Church, and approved mystics.

In it, there are short chapters on his birth, presentation in the temple, and childhood. Then, follow his life with the Blessed Virgin: the espousal, the Incarnation, and the Nativity. Finally, read about events in the life of the Holy Family: the Presentation, the Flight into Egypt and return to Nazareth, the Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple. The last chapter looks at the suffering and death of St. Joseph and evidence of his assumption into Heaven.

Below you can read the Introduction by Dr. Amelunxen, where he lays out the plan and sources for The Great St. Joseph.

Sure to enlarge your knowledge of the great Saint and increase your devotion to him!

The Little Catechism of the Cure of Ars is an incomparable analysis of the spiritual battle we all face to save our souls and is probably the simplest and most persuasive exhortation ever written admonishing us to renounce our sins and to lead a pure and holy life. Divided into 36 short chapters, The Little Catechism by St. John Vianney covers every basic aspect of our spiritual struggle and the means Jesus Christ has provided through His Church to overcome our spiritual problems. But more than this, The Little Catechism reflects the wisdom of a lifetime of labor spent in the vineyard of the Lord, wisdom stated in a profound yet simple and direct way that the reader will find nowhere else but in the writings of the Cure of Ars. For here we find many many of the Cure's memorable and epigrammatic sayings, so expressive of spiritual truths, such as, "I know two very certain ways of becoming poor: they are working on Sunday and taking other people's propoerty." No one who seeks spiritual understanding will the work to be a unique and profound understanding of the pitfalls we all face in trying to save our souls.
